Cole in the zone

too bad all the people sitting behind home plate are too busy checking their phones to see it

The Series turned out to be a dud mostly because of the Yankees’ defense both on the field and in the stands.

I'm happy for Teoscar and Freddie Freeman. And, what the hell, also Kevin Kiermaier.

I wonder how this series and postseason in general will affect the "Aaron Judge is practically a god or at least a titan" attitude. Abysmal at the plate save for one swing. Dropped a routine fly ball to kick off a bonanza of unearned runs for the Dodgers to come back and clinch the series.

Also, I think it's pretty insane how so many people in New York (fans and media alike) are embracing the ass hats who tried to arm wrestle Betts. That's not quite the reputation you want for your city or your ball club.

I was thinking about an all 1990's decade team versus a legends team from all other decades. A possible 90's team:

C-Ivan Rodriguez
1B-Frank Thomas
2nd-Roberto Alomar
SS-Alex Rodriguez
3rd-Chipper Jones
LF-Barry Bonds
CF-Ken GriffeyJr.
RF-Juan Gonzalez
DH-Albert Belle

Starting Pitchers-Roger Clemens, Greg? Maddux, Randy Johnson, Tom Glavine, Pedro Martinez

Relivers-Dennis Eckersley, Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman, Lee Smith

I might favor the 90's team in this match up.

I'm worried about how it affects the Soto situation this off-season. Suzyn Waldman was talking about how the Yankees shouldn't re-sign Soto because Judge isn't a real center fielder so they should just hide him in right. But Soto also kind of needs to be hidden in right.

Soto has played left field before, but left is a big space at Yankee Stadium, not a great fit for him.

And the implosion set off by Judge's fielding just highlights all that. Maybe the Yanks will want to get a real center fielder over re-signing Soto.

And I love watching Juan Soto so that makes me sad

All great players.
Gun to your shoulder, did any of them not take PEDs?

I would guess Frank Thomas, Griffey, and Chipper Jones did not use PEDs but who knows.

Those 3 are my best guesses too.
But still, I’d guess they all took something at some point in their career.

was at the roberto clemente museum yesterday and talked to Robert Clemente II. heard stories about his father and how the museum came to be.

this picture has a unique history. Never mind how it appears the clouds are angel wings. The Pittsburgh Press was bought out by the Post Gazette here in the 90s and a bunch of the boxes were just thrown away (the PG just wanted the building) and the curator of the museum found the negatives for the picture as well as several others in the garbage.

connecting to pearl jam, the curator (Dwayne) is a huge PJ fan and eddie got in touch with him since eddie is a huge baseball fan. Eddie actually spent 17 hours there one day hearing all the stories passed through the generations from Roberto Clemente II and second hand stories from his mother (robertos wife) Vera.

the musuem also sells their own wine and most if not all major league teams pass through and either have some made for themselves or as a group. Ed is no different and i now know where Ed gets his wine when in pittsburgh

Image

little known fact. why hasnt PJ played Pittsburgh this past tour? they had trouble with a date with PPG arena. apparently Seasame Street on Ice took priority since they were booking 3 days in a row. they are supposed to play in 2025 here

thats what the guy said and he said it more surprisingly than embellishing

talking one on one with RCII i asked how hard was it to share his dads passing with everyone in such a public way. he told me he had no choice...instead of him being able to grieve as a 7 year old should he had numerous people approach him crying over the loss of his father
