Well fair enough. Why was your friend talking to you during songs lol. But I get it, it didn't leave a good first impression. I felt indifferent to alot of PJ songs on my first listen, so you definitely need to let songs grow on you.dimejinky99 wrote:Vindicator wrote:haha. what a way to listen to the first PJ album in 7 years.EJ wrote:I would be too if I had to hear it from a cellphone’s speaker and a guy talking to me at the same time.dimejinky99 wrote:oneway23 wrote:I'd be pretty fucking pissed if I died before getting to hear this record.dimejinky99 wrote:You’re all Fucking assholes. It was on iPhone earphones. Those ones you have to use left and right. But not that they’re much better than the speaker.
Tho to be fair the sound on iPhone speakers from 7 onwards is pretty impressive.

Because this all sounds like a bunch of bullshit. Here’s a test: give us one lyric that isn’t known to us yet that we will when the album releases.Vindicator wrote:Well fair enough. I remember taking a class called “ Psychology of persuasion” in college. One of the key takeaways was if someone gets this defensive, they’re full of shit.Vindicator wrote:why are you so confrontational about something like this? instead of giving us thoughts or impressions, you stay vague and get defensivedimejinky99 wrote:UltimaKilo wrote:Because this all sounds like a bunch of bullshit. I’ve always enjoyed your input/opinions on here whenever a new PJ album is dropped. Sucks you don’t find the new album enjoyable but for me, S/T is near the top of my list and Riot Act was the low bar in terms of album rankings. I enjoy hearing both positive and negative reviews as I’m soaking in everything about the new album (and super stoked I just must say) . I think that’s what makes this band so special...different strokes for different folksdimejinky99 wrote:Monkey_Driven wrote:Dime's posting is consistent, though I'm not sure how much stock we should put into his first impressions given his listening environment.
Thank you. And exactly that. The ones I personally don’t like tend to be the ones I struggle with and listen to most. ST I’ve listened to probably more than most and I still don’t get it.
I’ve never hated or even disliked a Pj record out the gate. Usually just to excited to get new music to form a thought. I’m sure we’re probably all the same. Only comparable first spin for me in terms of immediate reaction is Riot act.
‘Well. It’s new songs I guess. Shrug’.
For me it’s all about how they are live. And they haven’t been here in ten years and my touring to see them is over so it could be I’m being cynical and even a bit bitter. But it’s earned certainly when it comes to being over how much I’ve had to travel to see em
Not that that will be a problem for the next year at least.
