If your package is delivered via USPS but returned to sender for whatever reason, is it still tracked under the same tracking number? Or does it get a new one?

There is something appealing about the idea of a like-minded group buying some land and creating a little paradise. It seems like many of them aim too big, like a self-sufficient commune, instead of like here's 5 acres with some custom homes built-out and common spaces. Like a housing development but collectively owned and on a much smaller scale.
