I just noticed Ted Williams has been riding the Red Sox bench for quite some time. I realize you're a bit stacked at the OF position, but come on. It's Ted fucking Williams.

Yeah, if you're in a paid league it factors in fatigue and stuff (even with everyday players), so I'm sure the bullpens get used differently. It also lets you "live watch" simulations.

It was a difficult call to make but we had to do it when we did. Then we started winning a bunch of games so we weren't fucking with the lineup.

Ted Williams is riding the bench in Boston while Ty Cobb is only starting against righties in Detroit.

Yeah, it assumes everyone is on full rest, so it always pitches your best ones in the "situation" it decides- and it always makes your best one your closer. In the Post steroid tourney it always went to Rodney first in a close game, then Lidge (who was routinely shelled), then Gagne. If it was a large lead either way it would put in Zumaya. We almost never saw JJ Putz.

I think since these are all 1-game samples it would be quite difficult to assess the behaviors of the WhatIf system. I bet it simulates differently in a season mode that tracks all data.

And a columbian national living in Argentina, who as far as I can tell has never watched a full baseball game, has a 2 game lead on all of us.

Hell. Look at todays indians wins- both were won Jackson and saved by Mesa.

My pitchers almost always go complete games win or lose. I don't think that happens in full-season mode.

So are we going to have a simulated mid-season All Star game? Not sure if we have an AL-NL balance, but we could make it work.
We really need another reason to keep this thread at the top of RM for a very long time.

I was actually wondering if we should have an All-Star break and do this.

In large part because I am going to get a kick out of Alex Avila playing in the mid october classic while Ted Williams sits home for october baseball, as he always did.
