... wait, you don't have Creep OR Crackerman?! Jeez, dude!
Lol. Big Empty would probably be there if I made the list again today. Creep and Crackerman aren’t close to my top 20.
Really???

Crackerman was my first favorite STP song. It fucking rocks, and so does D&B, which was my backup for Crackerman in the tourney. WG has just grown tiresome for some reason. Creep is just a very well-crafted piece of songwriting, so I couldn't pass that one up when it was up for grabs.
I feel the same way about Crackerman as you do about WG, and I haven’t loved Creep since I was 15. It’s in the same category as Radiohead’s Creep; Iconic songs that haven’t done anything for me since I became an adult.
Seems like many here have 'outgrown' Core, and I guess I haven't yet. Those songs mostly held up quite well when I spun the album a few days ago.
I don’t dislike Core. Plush is still one of my favorites. There are a couple others I really enjoy. I just think the STP of Purple/Shangri-La/Tiny Music is much more interesting and overall much more creative and just ... better.
Ok... I'll concede Purple as easily the best of all, but Core will always be my second or third favorite STP album. I don't hold Tiny Music in as high regard as most... when I ranked the songs on there, only four songs really did anything for me. Otherwise, BBB drives me insane, and is as big a classic rock rip-off of the Rolling Stones as Given to Fly is to Led Zeppelin. Shangri La... 'I just need to spend more time with it' has been my excuse for far too long, but nothing on that one really stands out to me. I don't even really count that last divebomb of an album... I'd rather listen to Chester.

It was only a couple of years ago that I really gave Shangri-La a legitimate chance. I’m so glad I finally did. I love that album. It rivals Purple as my STP favorite. I mostly agree with you about Tiny Music being uneven, but I love about half the album.

Yep. That’s the only dumb song on the album.

Do you at least like Regeneration?
No. Isn’t that the one with that horrendous rap-y section? Yuck.

I loved Tiny Music to death when it came but I don't think it has aged well.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Is Stone Temple Pilots nu metal?

I mean in 2001 they toured with Linkin Park, Static-X, Staind and Puddle of Mudd.

I'd say it's more tribal chanting in Regenration...but it is pretty goofy. RHCP could pull it off but not STP.

I was referencing our classic “is it nu metal?” topic from a few years ago.
