Australian Open kids’ day. Had never been, snuck away to watch Venus Williams practice on one of the smaller courts. Super cool.

That’s cool! Big time tennis tourneys are really fun to attend. For more than just the tennis. Always a lot of fun stuff going on.

We had solar panels installed last year. Got a letter in the mail today from the company we’re financing through that the company we bought them from (Purelight) filed bankruptcy in December. Ugh.

I feel you. We have another year left on our new home warranty, but apparently the builders are going into admin (bankruptcy).

I use public transportation from the steelers stadium to my office (a 10 minute ride max)

looking at the PRT app it shows in real time when to expect the train. I get there at 540 and the app says 553 it will arrive. it is -1 outside so i wait in my car. at 550 i go to the platform and there are many people there. not a good sign. 555 and still no train. announcement stating they are running a little behind but totally understandable (get what you pay for, which for me is free). 615 we all leave the platform as they now announce there are powerlines down and to expect more delays as the trains arent running.

totally fair. nothing anyone can really do. go back down to my car and wait in the warmth. all in all there are about 30 people disgruntled and mingling around the station trying to keep warm. I look up and see that the train is just pulling in. it is maybe a 4 minute walk from the parking lot to enter the train. by the time i get up there some people had made it on and it left. this driver literally waited a whole 14 seconds upon arriving and leaving and not one of those people said there were more on their way up.

at this point it is like 635-640a. i waited just a bit longer up on the platform then went down to my car again when i lost feeling in my hands.

so i drive over to work and park in the building and get to the office. set my bag in my office. it is important to note my id badge for the building and my office is attached to my bag. i go to hang up my coat and when i do i hear the familiar ding of my office door locking and i have 2 seconds to push the door open or else it stays locked.

it is locked with my change of clothes, my badge, my phone sitting in plain view

and that is how you start a wednesday morning folks

Yep, summer in the southern hemi is Dec to Feb, so back they go in late Jan. A shorter summer break than the US because there are longer, two week breaks between each quarter term throughout the year.

Anyway, was a good call by me to get some chill time in when I could. She was exhausted at pickup and I had to drag her to basketball practice.

I've been spotty about workouts the last few weeks for a million reasons, so did my first leg day in a while on Wednesday and now I feel like I'm walking around on two cement pillars
