Because of a criminal investigation. This is a different form of investigation, and a doozy.

It *should* be absolutely stunning. If you could erase the last two years worth of news, the FBI feeling the need to investigate the president as a possible foreign asset would be the biggest story ever...and it really still should be. But we’re so numb to this stuff, and so caught up in the “who will win” angle of the shutdown, that they’re being treated as equal stories.

Say what you will about trump, his two years of bombast and shocking us all into numbness is really something. And directly out of the Russian playbook. Distract, take advantage of dischord and sow doubt amd distrust.

Just another day in Trumpland, where a dark state mix of conspirators are out to destroy his presidency. You just wonder what they know that has not been made public.
I would love to be able to go ten years into the future to see how it all ends and what is written about the Trump years.
