Love the twinkle in the singer’s eye as he toys with the very last syllable of “one thing I never had was the upper hand” like a cat having fun with its prey. I like the moment right before the big guitar hook returns for the end of got to give, when Ed is still hootin and hollerin and someone teases the riff, buried underneath and lower down on the fretboard.

I like what they are doing, all of the time.
yeah, thats a very cool moment on Upper Hand. Its staying as one of my favorites from this album really. Very powerful song.

Everyone talks about WFS, which is amazing, but Upper Hand is the Dark Matter track that's the closest musically and emotionally to "classic Pearl Jam."

I'm torn between Upper Hand and Won't Tell for album favorite.
Good thing they're back to back.

there are so many hidden little details and flourishes and just little bits all over this record, and i love it cos it makes it all sound it's done in an all in live take?
maybe too many but does anyone have a list of them all?

No Code is the 'live and we're in the room with them' record for me, and it has many of these little bits too, now i just wish there were more or more pronounced..

and Yield..Yield is great for this too

the no code apple dolby mix in particular highlighted lots of small moments. It wasnt really mixed for them so the overall songs felt slightly disjointed but very interesting to listen to

I've taken my first extended break from Dark Matter. It's been two weeks since I've listened to anything from it, but today is feeling like the day it summons me back.

The local radio station has been playing Wreckage at least once an hour the past couple of weeks. Feels like this has the most (and widest) radio staying power since Just Breathe?

Yeah probably. The song have also that crossover sound so it could still have legs.

They should play some tv show before their next tour

No idea. But I know Ed’s Mrs and kids adore her.
And he has said this only recently

‘ Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder said in an interview with Mojo that he sees similarities between Swifties and the punk rock crowds of his youth.
Vedder, who said he made it to a Swift concert after one of his daughters convinced him to attend, added that he was immediately impressed by the communal atmosphere surrounding the show.
"The run-up to it, making friendship bracelets with her and the generosity of these young girls and boys, trading these bracelets with different messages on them - lyrics, song titles, just acts of goodwill on these little bracelets," Vedder explained in the interview. "They had found their tribe; they were all agreeing on something."
Vedder said that he saw a distinct similarity between Taylor Swift fans and punk rock crowds despite the totally different musical style.
"The craziest thing," the singer noted, "was it reminded me of punk rock crowds, of being aligned with all of the misfits in our town, back in the day. It was galvanizing and powerful."

As much as it doesn’t matter either way, I will be disappointed if there isn’t another single from this album.
