Sounds like Rose’s ban might be lifted soon, and that his family started this process last December. But Trump is gonna take credit, right?

I guess it’s not technically a “ban” anymore, the language they’re using is that he could be “reinstated.” Means he’d be eligible for the HOF at least.

Anybody read/listened to The Baseball 100? A book about the 100 greatest players according to Joe Posnanski.

First, it's a pretty good book but could have used a better editor. Second, the chapter on Pete Rose kind of changed my mind from "why don't you give the guy a break" to "not only did he dig his own grave, he used heavy equipment to do so". I didn't really know the whole story. Giamatti gave him chance after chance to get out fairly clean and Rose just wanted to be a liar and an ass until the bitter end and then spend the next half of his life playing a victim. That's some serious narcissist bullshit. I say eff him.

Watching Seiya Suzuki take BP with a samurai sword was as awesome as I'd imagined it would be.

The Vedder Cup!
PEORIA, Ariz. -- The victor in the annual season series between the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners will now win the Vedder Cup, a trophy designed by Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder.

This award is part of a charity drive benefiting the Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership, an organization co-founded by Eddie and Jill Vedder. The charity is dedicated to funding research to discover treatments and cures for epidermolysis bullosa, a condition that causes blistering of the skin.

The Padres and Mariners play two series against each other every season. This year, they meet May 16-18 in Seattle and Aug. 25-27 in San Diego.

I hope the trophy is an old nut cup from his baseball memorabilia collection.

It’s for charity so that’s good. Over/under what % of players will know who Eddie Vedder is?

Hard pass.
Spoiler: show
As in: I’ll be hard when I pass through the gate with my front row ticket to all 6 games.

The Dodgers are looking so unbeatable, at least on paper. Would not want to be in the division with them.

I can’t believe the A’s aren’t using a city name this year. Has any team in any sport ever done that?

Nashville.

Looks like they are trying to attract - most likely - the Rays.

That would be great.

Color scheme is black & white for the Nashville Stars. No good. Gotta add something to that. No teams in the AL featuring purple. Do it.
