What great child actors. I loved how the movie could turn on a dime from completely ridiculous laughs to total jump out of your seat fright. Really great.
Pennywise was wonderful. Skaarsgard did a hell of a job with it. The first scene of the movie from the sewer - I wanted more of that. I was riveted by his performance.
Oh god me too. I wanted more intense dialog scenes from him. There's a moment in that sewer scene where he just stops talking for like 10 seconds and goes totally dead-eyed...holy fuck, it's like my favorite moment in the movie.
Yes! This was like the scariest part of the whole movie. He kinda drops character and looks at Georgie like he's a steak for a second and it's so terrifying. I'm glad I'm not the only one that really dug that little bit of acting.

Listened to the latest episode of the cinefiles. About the matrix. It's 19 years old!
Had to put it on. Such a great film.

Lol, can't believe that scared me as a child.
I remember the first half with the kids being a lot better than the one with the adults. And the big finale was especially bad, even then.
I'm hoping the inevitable sequel doesn't have the same problem.

The Founder came up on my Netflix queue. Better than expected bio pic on the birth of the McDonalds franchise.
Honestly the main reason I watched was that part of it was filmed in my hometown. Kroc's first restaurant was re-created in a parking lot behind the old courthouse and next to a church, a coincidence considering a line in the movie.

I'm trying to get my sister to watch the original Point Break. I can't believe she's never seen it before.

great movie. I'm not sure why it went relatively un-noticed.

The Lost City of Z
Well I liked it. Some understated performances..across the board tbh and lovely period production but a fascinating true story also. Worth a watch. Nice lazy weekend film.

Saw Mother! last night.
Wife couldn't take it anymore and had to leave the cinema during the last ten or so minutes while I live-updated her via text.
It was OK, I guess. I didn't find it that great.

You let your wife leave by herself so you could watch the last 10 minutes of a movie you weren't really into!

No way in hell I would walk out during the last 10 minutes of a movie. My wife can wait in the lobby for 10 minutes.

No, she wanted to know what was happening, we'd come so far at that point - she just couldn't watch it anymore. She was only in the corridor outside, it's not like she was down the street somewhere.

She couldn't watch because she hated it or it was disturbing ?

A bit of both, I guess.
- Spoiler: show
- She left just before the baby was eaten, if that helps clarify.

Watched a Netflix film called Death Note last night. Really good fun. Kinda camp play on the genre but done right. Really caught the spirit of 80s thrillers like Freddie etc. Worth a watch.

Saw Fences yesterday. Fantastic acting, can see why Davis won an Oscar. Ok story. Nearly everything happened in one spot, so it was almost like going to the theatre.
