Stepped foot in my old high school for the first time in 25 years or so.
Three of my best pals from those days also came so we could walk the halls and weird out together.
Nostalgia is cool but exhausting.

what was the occasion?
When I used to play basketball it was at my old jr high and walking past the lunch room, the principals office and my 6th grade hallway was always a bit weird once I was in my 40s

Yeah, that's one of those unique experiences that is difficult to predict.
My wife recently went on a tour of my elementary school and junior high/high school building. "It explained so much."

Occasion was my nephew happened to have a basketball tourney there. I’d mentioned it to one friend earlier in the week, so he reached out to two others to come down and surprise me. We snuck away during the third game to have a beer and two quick games of pool in my buddy’s parents’ basement, where we used to hang out all the time. The basement was frozen in time, so weird.

My elementary school is next door to my high school, so I walked around the playground a bit yesterday. That was super weird too.

it's so surreal when you come face to face with that stuff. some time ago a guy i knew from the gym and i were talking. he mentioned he lived up by they elementary school in moon. I told him I knew that place well as my dad lived there years ago. He asked where and I said the road. He laughed and said oh thats where I live now. I joked its not the house just before the hill down to another road is it? he paused. He actually lived in my dads old house and I went there with him. while it was definitely updated everything was there, the deck, the bathrooms, the bedrooms, the game room, garage and shed in the backyard.
it was like the 80s all over again

Some of us did similar at our old college house, about ten years after living there. We were walking home from the bar and the place was having a party, so we knocked and they invited us in for a beer. We may have greased the wheels by mentioning there was some pot we hid that may still be there. Anyway, it’s cool your dad used to live on the moon.

two days post shot, I don't feel sick, but my muscles are... restless? It feels like I'm having a constant anxiety attach. Wtf.
I got my second shingles dose on Friday. I had no issues with the first dose. Now the second one…I woke up at 4am Saturday with chills and body aches. That lasted about 36 hours. I basically lost an entire weekend to it. So, I took the day off today, and I’m so glad I did because I had diarrhea for most of the morning. I think I completely emptied my bowels.
To be honest, I’d been warned that the second dose could be a problem. I can deal with aches and diarrhea, but I’m a big baby when it comes to chills. I hate it so much.
Hopefully, you don’t have any of those issues.

Shitty and stressful day. My life was so much better a year ago. My cat was alive, I had a reliable second car, I had a job I liked, ICE wasn’t yet murdering and disappearing people to black sites in a racist terror campaign (as far as we knew)…life just sucks right now. I’m so tired and burnt out.

I chain smoked for like a week and today is my third day quitting which if you don't know that's the worst day so I went for a run to purge the poison and let's just say I was sweating like a pig.
