Agreed, that was the most exciting part about the song was some of the unconventional sounds they tried using. I liked the creativity in that regard. The rest of the song though…

I will say I was into the ca-chings and such. My main problem with this song is that you’ve got 3 guitars and a bass, and all you come up with is that? They go in mood phases of properly utilizing and underutilizing the sheer number of instruments they are throwing together in any set of songs.

What I wouldn’t give to write a crap song that generates 77 pages of chat board discussion.

well, I do listen to the rhythm section primarily in all my music unless anything else is *so* bad it overpowers it, so that might make sense

in my head, In My Tree has a very quiet cowbell mixed in that percussion somewhere, but I might be wrong, I haven't heard it in ages

I think CDM is possibly the only time old Ed has relatively successfully achieved the scratchy angularity of something like "My Generation" or "You Really Got Me"

Yeah. Nothing As It Seems is probably in my top 5 favorite Pearl Jam songs.

Once in awhile I will play the AOL Sessions version which I like. I like how the guitars sound.
