So along with not being able to meet students in person, my wife also can't meet prospective or incoming students in person. So today she has to record welcome videos from her department in the case that welcome days and early orientation days are cancelled. Needless to say, she is thrilled.

PM Trudeau's wife confirmed to have it. So now he has to work remotely too.

I actually get really bored and demotivated by it pretty quickly. I like the interactions with coworkers as a reprieve (albeit minor one) and being able to work around downtown whenever.

Just got the word that we're being asked to work from home. I've done it, here and there. I'm not a big fan, to be honest. Even though most of my job is done via PC, I like to be here and get my hands on things. I put on at least 3 miles and 27 flights of stairs, which isn't gonna happen at home. I busted out the bike last night, as the gym probably isn't the best place for cardio, these days. Looks like it'll be getting a lot more miles, in the coming weeks...months.

So will McDonald's be offering wfh benefits or are those employees just screwed one way or the other?

Every employee is getting screened at the door as of this morning. They asked me questions and checked my temperature with one of those forehead scanner thingies. Cool device. Works fast. They said they will be doing this every morning. Felt weird. I'm glad they're doing it, though.

Office now officially closed through March 30. Not a big deal for me as I already wfh 2-3 days/week. I'm guessing this will eventually be extended as this thing blows up even more in the next couple of weeks.

Just really not looking fwd to:

1) probably having to stay away from my gym
2) the inevitable closing of my kids' schools and the virtual classroom experiment

Edit: and just like that, just got the email from kids' school - closed through 3/27. I'm sure that will be extended.
