I pondered that as I was typing it, so OK. She was only under water while the Rebel ships recovered from the ring jump, did a thorough search, landed and argued for a while, and then did several more searches until they were almost out of fuel. So, while you totally decimated my math, you didn't solve the problem.

My preferred theory is that she actually WAS in the WBW, not dreaming. She wasn't on the planet to be found until Chopper sensed her.

ugh this all feels like a bit of a mess

hope the next episode clears this up

Perhaps I worded the question poorly. I just found some old discussions on "prime" Anakin vs. "prime" Vader.

Mega-nerd AxisofEviI had this to say on the matter some 8 years ago:

"I think that while Anakin lost a good bit of potential when he became Vader, after becoming Vader he still continued to become more powerful. Vader has more experience, more training, more focus, and all the cybernetic enhancements. Anakin's advantage is raw force power, but Vader has shown stronger feats now than Anakin has. I have my doubts that Anakin could have survived the situation in Vader Down unless he just went into hiding.

So, I consider Vader to be the superior to Anakin, although his max potential is less his prime is higher. Anakin being arrogant in the first round just hurts him further. To tip the scales, Anakin would have to get to the same training level and focus of Vader. He is theoretically better, just has untapped power."
