I have personal experience that females like a side of PJ that dudes can only tolerate. I'd like like to hear how the ladies like the record, I bet they hate what all of you are bananas about.

Nomorecrackpipes, why don't you just cut to the chase: change your username to Mr. Misogyny and be done with it?
It's not my intention at all, just from personal experience my wife and other like-minded women have a different preference of PJ songs. I began dating my wife in 1999 and she was really into the softer side of PJ: Last Kiss, Wishlist, Thin Air, et al. She's never expressed any appeal for the rock songs (except for Given to Fly) or the sad songs (she said "Why would he write something like that?" when she first heard The End). She'll dig Future Days, which everyone here is shatting upon, and reluctantly listen to My Father's Son.

I was simply trying to find a female point of view on the new songs.

I was trying not to cut anything, but I agree with your cuts.
If the mission was to get the record down to 10, this is what I'd do as well.

There won't be a single female point-of-view, just as there isn't a male one.

My wife immediately cheered My Fathers Son when it came on with " this is outstanding". She also loves Sirens .

You do realize that many women enjoy harder rock songs and many men enjoy softer/quieter songs? I think by leading with that generalization you are going to offend a few people, especially those who are overly sensitive to things like that.

I hate Last Kiss and Wish List. they bore me - I doubt it's about a female perspective, it's about what your musical preferences are... when you say it's about 'female' you're implying that women follow some proscribed set of behaviors, and in fact, you imply that men do too...

they really need a female member. People really love that. Either a co-singer or bass player. sorry Jeff.

I'm thinking the woman that played violin for FD should've done the composition / orchestration job on the whole song.

I listen to both Kelly Clarkson and Tool. I'm now fearing I've been mislabeling my genitalia.

Nooo, I like the soft ballads and the hard rock songs. I guess there's a vagina hidden somewhere near my penis. :search:

She could be one of the tambourine players. Radio loves a dual tambourine attack.

Jeff should get half of the writing credits for Getaway. He essentially wrote the verse vocals.
