Ended up taking Sunday off because my legs were still feeling pretty beat-up from the downhill part of Saturday's Run. Cool morning. Probably the first run of the year where my legs needed some "warm-up" time. Canals were busy and people were already wearing full-on coats and sweatpants. It gets below 70 here and people think they need to break out the parkas. Felt solid the entire way. 34 out. 34 back. I was listening to the news and kinda forgot my finishing kick.

Guys, I had a backslide this weekend. Between beer, chips, and burgers while watching the LSU/Georgia game on Saturday and pizza, Jack and Cokes, and cheesecake on Sunday, I am in desperate need of some exercise.

No. We didn't care for each other. Mostly because he's a Suns fan and I'm a Spurs fan. That, and he didn't like the fact that I refer to ASU as the world's largest community college, which it is.

I know about 50 people that went to ASU.
Not one of them graduated from ASU

I generally hit it hard on Saturday morning, then eat crap/drink in the afternoon, but make sure I've stopped stuffing my face by about five. I have no breakfast Sunday morning and hit it hard again, then have a couple beers/glasses of wine Sunday night. That way I get a nice mix of debauchery and exercise for the weekend.

Another question for swimmers, so Im keeping track of laps correctly, is a lap one length or there and back?
I think the pool at the Y tells how many laps are in a mile, but Im not sure what is considered a lap

A lap is there and back or two lengths.

Peeps' new avatar is more suited to musical blurtings than fitness high-fives. I really love that avatar, Jerry.

The Ultra Race of Champions 100k was this weekend. This has turned into an elite ultra event and is technically the ultrarunning world championship this year. A guy I've run with several times actually won the damn thing, beating ultra god Killian Jornet in the process.

Rob representin' AZ. (OK, he's actually Canadian, but he lives here)

Awesome! That would have been a perfect fucking run with the weather we had this weekend.

Feeling just a tiny bit rundown this morning, so I took some sublingual B-12 before I hit the door. It was cool out and I actually wore a shirt, which felt really weird. 34 out. 34 back. Felt a little tickle of sickness in the back of my throat when I got back, so I took some echinacea and plan on downing a gallon of orange juice today. I worked hard for my current level of fitness and I don't want to see it go to shit because of illness. I'll take tomorrow off from running.

I had planned on playing some raquetball and then swimming some laps this evening and i was able to play raquetball, or really since i was by myself i was just running around and volleying, but i didn't realize the the locker room didn't connect to the pool and i didn't bring any flip flops, so i decided not to walk all over the y barefoot and i skipped the swim, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday ill get a swim in.

Had intended on working out last night; ate half a pizza instead.
Got to make up for that tonight.

My reservations for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon were just cancelled because of the government shutdown. Fuck! No sub-4 hour rim-to-rim this year. Rim-to-rim-to-rim is still on the table, however.

And I did go to the gym last night. Got enough of workout in to feel a little sore this morning but in a good way.
