I was worried that spike's initial post was going to cause a bit of a fuss. But, really, it's all there in the show. Even in season one. But especially in this last episode.

And again, the most important aspect of this whole debate is that IT'S JUST ONE THEORY.
Even in the books, nothing is confirmed as far as this goes. It's all speculation.
