I think it's fair to say that you've never seen anything like that before. Perhaps the most unbelievable comeback/turnaround/win of all time.



Funny side note - not only did the Seahawk fans who left early not get back into the stadium, but all the local bars were packed (pun intended) and they couldn't get in anywhere. So not only did they miss it live, but had no place to see the end and were stuck out in the pissing rain. Ha.

Yeah I was quite upset about that game. I was a big fan of Houston and their Run n Shoot - 3 WRs with 1000 yards (well 996) . I used to destroy with them in Tecmo Bowl.

Think about the probability of any of those individual things working...and then the probability of all of them happening in the same game. Overcoming 5 turnovers, fake field goal TD, onside kick, wounded duck 2-pt conversion pass, winning the OT coin toss, only 6 points scored off those 5 turnovers, goal line stand, etc.

I haven't seen the overhead shot of it yet, but when GB intercepted a pass at about the 5 minute mark the defender could have had a huge return, maybe even a TD, certainly to (near) field goal range. Instead he took a knee and Seattle got the ball back. That was a HUGE play and it indicated that GB considered the game was over, Seattle was still ready to fight to the whistle.

I will be forever grateful for the "Discount Double-Choke" and never-give-up attitude of the Seahawks. What a fucking incredible game.

I read that late in the game, one of the big Vegas casinos (MGM Grand?) took four separate six-figure bets for the Seahawks to win. At the time the odds had grown to like 30-1. MGM paid out all four. Conceivably each bet was $100,000 at a minimum and the payout was $3,000,000 each at a minimum. Wow.

In one game: One team dominated the other in the first half...then they reversed roles in the second half. It's happened many times before. Not to the Frank Reich scale of course, but it's happened and it took place over the course of the entire half.

The other game: Featured a ridiculously frantic last few minutes and I would venture that never before have the odds been so stacked against one team, statistically speaking, with so little time left...never before...in a postseason game. Maybe you just have to be a Seattle fan to truly enjoy it to the fullest extent. Nothing going right all damn day, and then BAM with 3 minutes left a total miracle unfolds before your eyes.

Baseball equivalent...just throwing out random numbers: Game 1 equivalent to being down 20 runs with 5 innings left to come back. Game 2 equivalent to being down 10 runs with 2 outs in the 9th and bases empty? Is that a fair comparison?

Exactly. What took Buffalo a 1/2 to accomplish, took, as you said, Seattle a couple of minutes. Not even close.
