Recent Maron episodes I've listened to:

Kristen Bell - This was better than I expected. Dax Shepherd is a doofus, but she seems quite lovely and playful.

Anna Faris - This was embarrassing. I could practically hear Maron's boner hitting the underside of his desk. He's so bad at flirting. I hope Sarah the Painter gave him hell.

Slash - This was better than I expected too.

The more I listen to his podcast the more I realize that Dax loves talking over people. He needs to cut it out. Also he's got the worst laugh I've ever heard...he sounds like a rabid squirrel or something.

That feeling when you read the description of a podcast and get super excited, only to listen to it and realize it's shit is a very particular kind of disappointment.

Sooooo much rides on voices, pacing, and format. It’s tricky to get right.

Also when it's just a skype recording and the levels don't match I want to find whoever made it and strangle them.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
