Regardless of whether she violated an obscure rule that never gets invoked, they have to know this will play as a group of mostly men telling a woman to sit down and shut up. For reading the words of another woman. Who was a civil rights figure.

So, the after-supper updates to the day are...
...Republicans shut down the reading of a statement written by a civil rights leader.
...the establishment team members are out of favor, giving Bannon more control.
...the US is no longer permitted to pursue terrorists in Yemen.

well, to try and look on the bright side of a few things:
- the travel ban was stopped
- the ACA appears to be safe for at least a year
- the president wants to bring pharma prices down
- unemployment remains low
- markets remain up

I forgot
...Trump called the wrong guy, at 3 AM, to ask him to explain whether a strong dollar was good or bad for the economy.
McConnell and other Republicans said Warren violated Senate rules. The rule, No. 19, says senators cannot "directly or indirectly, by any form of words impute to another Senator or to other Senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a Senator."
However, when Sen. Tom Udall, D-New Mexico, read the same letter the next day, Republicans did not object.
yet its okay if a man does it? This feels really fucking gross.

Re: supporting Trump's simultaneous massive tax cut and spending increases that will send the deficit higher
“If there is a temporary increase in the deficit to get our economy growing, I think my fellow Republican members are willing to look at the long game,” said Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), a Trump loyalist. “A growing economy and growing our way to success and financial stability is what we want to see.”
You've got to be kidding me.

Man last night was busy. Any other time in the last 15 years, a middle eastern country denying the US the ability to conduct anti-terrorism operations would be all anybody would talk about for a week.
Instead, it's just the big headline from 4:30-5:15 PST.

For all his obsession with real and supposed currency manipulation......sigh.
But he's a brilliant businessman!

Somebody needs to send Trump Greg? Mankiw's Principles of Economics textbook and make him read the section about capital inflows and real exchange rates. Seeing as he reminded us this morning that, “I was a good student. I understand things. I comprehend very well, OK? Better than, I think, almost anybody." this shouldn't be a problem.

From Collins' website:
Cut the deficit and reduce spending: Chris Collins knows a thing or two about cutting government. As Erie County Executive, he reduced the county’s debt by more than $120 million and kept spending increases to practically zero. In Washington, Chris is standing up to Obama’s reckless policies and working to get spending under control.

I read that book for an econ class a few years ago, it was excellent. And I doubt Trump understands the concepts therein.
