Easy to say / fake you like all those cool bands.

Much much harder to admit you know every word of every counting crows or Britney Spears album.

Hey guys. What a night, huh? I was gonna give an incredibly dense review of the night but you guys watched the whole thing and I don't have the patience to go through the last 30 pages that were written since I left for NYC.

I realize how silly it is to feel something akin to pride while watching that, but that's what I felt.

Was Rey in this?

And I'll gladly belt out as much Counting Crows as any of you can stand.

I personally was as much, if not more, proud of the fans as I was of the band. They said it clearly and directly, the fans kept them alive, the fans kept them going. This was an accomplishment for the fans. Great thing.

Big thanks to whoever shared the Periscope stream here. Wife and I were in San Fran for the weekend. Friday night we got back to the hotel around 8:30, she crashed, I logged on to RM to see if anyone was recapping the night, ended up tuning in to the stream right in the middle of Stone's speech and watching to the end, the last 20 minutes on the floor near the outlet so my phone wouldn't die, lol.

As cynical as I am about the band these days, I was smiling ear to ear the whole time. Loved Krusen killing Alive. Loved Letterman's speech. Loved Matt flubbing his own last name because he WENT TOO FAST. Did not love the sloppy, The Voice audition-quality version of GTF. Loved Jeff's shirt. As someone who has been following this band for 24 years now, it was a fun night.
