Sort of a Harvest Moon moment/re-entry into the spotlight for the band. Though Neil was younger in '92.

Waiting for Stevie has had 40 spins at radio stations in the last few days.

Waiting For Stevie is a terrible title. And probably the most indicative example we have of how titles don't fucking matter. :heartbeat: :bammer:

Stevie last night completed Dark Matter live for me. It only took 3 shows. This record is brilliant, and that’s why the band is leaning into it. I saw 16 shows between 2013 and 2018 - the Lightning Bolt years - and a further 7 since then and have still not seen and never will see four songs from that album. Ignoring Gigaton is a bummer, though. Those songs deserve to be played live.

I was bummed that they didn't play DotC the last time I saw them. Now I expect I never get it live. No way they're playing it on Tuesday. Ah well...

So it goes

Excited to hear whatever they want to play, obviously, and hope they play a good amount from DM.

Been said before, but playing all of DM spread out over the two nights with no repeats would be very cool.

For those going to only one night it would be cooler if they played the whole thing both nights.

I am now very happy i got it at Brussels in´22 and also got Quick Escape. I kinda figured those two were going to be live classics but it seems they wont be easy to get them at future tours.

I know right? Quick Escape was so good love, too.

i think i don't hate it b/c of the story of behind the title. the idea of recording with stevie wonder was so inspiring EV wrote one of the best songs he's written in like 25 years.

and i'm also not sure what else it would be called. none of the lyrics really stick out as titles.

It is a good enough story.

But since the wind isn't about that there's a strong disconnect for me that hurts it.

Played this through on my morning run for the first time in a month.

It's really good. Except for Something Special. The rest is solid.

Played yesterday for the first time in quite a while in prep for MSG tonight and it's still a staggeringly good album.

Grateful beyond words to have an album of this caliber from them this deep into their career.

Brief post-Chicago thoughts:

New songs were all great live. Won't Tell felt huge. Dark Matter felt huge.

And, for some reason, I got literal chills and smiled massively when they kicked into React, Respond on Saturday night. It's not my favorite DM song, and I don't think it's the best live song of the bunch, but something in that moment was extra special. Dunno.
