Yeah, stadium size was in the back of my mind even as I was writing that. The whole system is already pretty far down the road it's on for sure. Maybe the best we could hope for is not relegation but something that would force ownership groups to sell if a team is garbage for too long. Some kind of accountability for putting a good product on the field, not just technically fielding a team just so you can have a TV contract and sell some tickets when the Dodgers or Yankees are in town.Bammer wrote:Some perspective on why that won’t work:
As an example, the Mariners’ stadium seats 45,000. The AAA Rainiers’ stadium seats 6,500.
That got him called up, didn’t it?Simple Torture wrote:Roman Anthony hit the fifth-longest home run in the Statcast era last night (a grand slam) and still no rumblings that his call-up to the Sox is imminent. 115 mph, 497 feet

I remember watching prince when he was about the age of 12 hit a bomb in BP at the all star game with his dad..Matters wrote:Cecil Fielder and Prince Fielder are tied for 136th on the all time home run list with 319 each.
During this whole long week of baseball anguish, I did keep trying to remind myself that baseball is a beautiful, perfect game and you can turn on a random game on some Tuesday and see something you’ve never seen before, and this is a great example of how something can come out of nowhere and stories start with “Since the first time since 1900…” So at least I’ve got that going for me.spike wrote:MISIOROWSKI

I was really glad that Murphy let Misiorowski go back out and lose the perfect game (and shutout) honestly rather than pull him because that's "just what you do, statistically".Simple Torture wrote:During this whole long week of baseball anguish, I did keep trying to remind myself that baseball is a beautiful, perfect game and you can turn on a random game on some Tuesday and see something you’ve never seen before, and this is a great example of how something can come out of nowhere and stories start with “Since the first time since 1900…” So at least I’ve got that going for me.spike wrote:MISIOROWSKI
