I've heard the movie is stellar. But it is subtle and slow. I haven't seen it myself because I've heard that the film is enhanced greatly by reading the book first.BootsToAsses wrote:I read an article discussing a scene from The Remains of the Day (1993) and it gushes about how amazing Anthony Hopkins is in a particular scene, subtly conveying lots of emotions by doing very little.
Now, I've never seen the film. Is it worth a watch? Is Hopkins great? Is Emma Thompson good in it?

I haven't seen it but I've heard that Anthony Hopkins is just great in a particular scene, subtly conveying lots of emotions by doing very little.

Very much so. I think it may have knocked Dead Man out of its long-held spot in the top five, in fact.
