I'd love to believe they still have a few in them.

i hate ranking but do we have a rank the bridge in pearl jam songs thread?
Dark matter is easily and comfortably up there with Pjs best bridges ever. A subtle switch left and a breath, then back into it.

fuckin love it

im sure I'll be a pariah for this, but I am still spinning the record 2x a day (if not more) and loving every second.

I was beginning to drop off before Wrigley 2 and Balt, and that spooled me right back up.

I now think ed's comment at the troubadour ("It's our best work yet, no hyperbole") was not too far off. I'm coming around to the idea that this is the strongest single collection of songs outside of ten. The SoF-Waiting run is as quality as anything they've done. Outside of Something Special and Running, which are still good tracks, they're all 5 star songs for me.

I still cannot believe the lightning bolt boys - authors of steaming piles like MyM and Infallible - made this record......just incredible.

seems to me that they always worked well under good producers and had no idea what to do under bad ones

I'm sure I'll be a pariah for this, but Infallible is still better than half of Dark Matter... just incredible.

I'm not sure I'd say half, but I do like Infallible more than a few DM songs.

Yeah, half is pretty strong. I'd have to sit and think about the exact number, but that's fair.

I think I have every DM song ahead of it, but I do like Infallible, and I REALLY appreciate the swing it is taking. Really like the lyrics and message. The L-Bolt production strips it of some of its character, which is a shame - there are some cool sounds in here we haven't heard from there before
