Does this mean Wagner is out of Ukraine? That doesn’t help Russia’s cause at all.

All Wagner contractors were supposed to sign contracts with MOD on July 1, so this move was partially about that. Wagner has been off the front lines since their announcement around the end of the Bakhmut operation, so they had plenty of guys not engaged with Ukrainian forces available.

My sister in law’s parents have made it all the way to Polamd, via Belarus. They will re-enter Ukraine, and live for a while in Western Ukraine.

That's great. Happy for you and yours, Anders.

Knowing theyre safe(r) now, I'd be curious to understand the route they took.

They are from Oleshky, just across the river from the city of Kherson. While Kherson was liberated, Oleshky was not.

After the terrible flood, they finally made the decision to flee. Their son knows someone who had gotten people out previously. They paid the necessary funds, and was then set to go on a bus to Crimea. The night before they were going to leave, the bridge they were supposed to cross was bombed. However, they had a bridge further away, and made their way to Crimea.

There they changed to a Russian registered bus, and travelled across the Kerch Bridge (Crimean Bridge). Afterwards, they drove in Russia, all the way to Belarus. Then they travelled across Belarus, and managed to cross the border to Poland (a Polish border guard was in on it). Now they are in Warsaw, and are very tired. They will soon travel to western Ukraine, and stay close to the Romanian border. Not a single bomb has gone off in that city yet.

My God what an ordeal that must have been. I hope they can get some rest, both physically and mentally.

Thanks, that's why I asked because it seemed like an insane run.

"China has already been surprised at Russia's poor military performance in Ukraine," Susan Thornton, a former senior US diplomat specialising in Asia, told AFP by email.

"This event will likely be seen as a further indicator of weakness/decay."
The CIA agrees and the Mongol/Kazak Front opens in 5 months...
