I've heard it. I think the highs are better than the highs on Backspacer, but I think Sirens is worse than anything on Backspacer. Overall it's better than Backspacer, but there's nothing here that's perfect save for maybe Pendulum. I think a lot of the songs that I think are just ok (read: most of the ones I don't hate) could benefit greatly from having a producer with a lighter touch.

So it's an unequivocal success!

I like more of the album than you it seems, but we agree - Pendulum is a five star song

For me, the stereotypical Tool listener is a greasy 15 year old boy in a Tool t-shirt, wanking over Manyard's lyrics and wondering why 'modern music' is crap. He's the kind of guy who will complain on YouTube that he was born in 'the wrong generation' and that 'real music' needs guitar, drums and bass.

Other bands he listens to: Pink Floyd, Rush. Any pretentious prog shite really.

I can't remember them now, but there were a couple times as I listened to this in the car this morning where I was like "damnit, Ed, you don't have to explain that!"

A lot of things come off as if it was an amateurs work. He's really too rough and heavy-handed for what he's trying to do.

Those fifteen year olds are in their 30s now.

I've been on a Tool kick lately. I love Maynard's stupid lyrics. The dumberer the better.

Couldn't get into Puscifer at all though.
