Damn. We were supposed to see her at NOLA Jazz Fest the same year PJ was there but she backed out at the last minute and Earth, Wind & Fire filled in. The wife made us leave.

She was the definition of a legend.

it was weird this morning i told my wife its like the female elvis dying only to find out that elvis died 41 years ago today

RIP. I was lucky enough to see her at a charity gala about ten years ago. I danced my ass off and so did everyone else. She was magnetic.

if you ever get a chance to tour fame studios they tell great stories about her time there and taking lunch breaks to jam with duane allman
