Gotta love Jason Kendall. Guy was a gamer. He was having one of the best seasons for a catcher in a long time until he got hurt in 1999.

He had 22 SB in half a season that year. That's pretty much unheard of... since 1950, only five catchers have stolen more than 22 in an entire season (one of them is Kendall) and none of them were as successful as Kendall in 1999(88% success rate).

How many days are you guys going to want to pick what year you want each player from? I know I've been keeping track as I go, but I'm sure some of you haven't really started to decide. I'm just curious as to what kind of deadline you want.

I will run a randomizer to select the seedings once the last pick is made. I volunteer to take the 9 seed. Whoever gets the 8 seed will face me in the play-in round.

If no one has any good suggestions as to other ways to do home-field, we will just give it to the higher seeded team.

I may need a day or two to assemble the teams on the site. If any of you want to sign up for a free account and assemble your team there yourself, that would actually be a huge help. It's not necessary though. One of the benefits though is that when you search for your player, it will show you all of the options you have (in terms of season) with a stat line right there next to it (including fielding rankings), arranged in order of which season of theirs is most popular on the site. So if you want to assemble your team yourself, I'll just need either your user name or the name you assign to your team.

Do we want to run multiple games from a series per day? Or should we only do one a day? We can do more per day for the play-in round and then stretch it out a bit when we get to the first full round if you guys would like. I know that personally I feel like it's more fun to not just "play" an entire series in a single day. You guys are gonna want more than just a few minutes in between games to trash my team on here for whatever monster defeat they've just suffered.

It shows you some cool overall numbers when you're putting your roster together too. My average position player has a .324/39/117 statline, and is B-/B- defensively (fielding ability/range). My average pitcher has an ERA of 2.34 and a WHIP of 1.05. I wonder how this matches up with the other teams.

I think a double-header a day would be a decent pace, though I'd be ok with 1/day.

Top-seed getting home field advantage makes sense.
