End of an era indeed. My last one passed a few years and still think and talk about them often. I hope you find many ways to keep their memories and legacies alive.

Yesterday night i went with my girl to see a jazz trio in this gorgeous small place nearby. The leader was a great pianist and singer who might have around 80 years old and had the energy of a teenager.

Music was great and dinner too.

my condolences Ello. when i lost my last grandparent i threatened her. she was in hospice after a stroke and couldnt talk and she was asleep. it was a day or two before my birthday. i quietly told her if she passed on my birthday i would never forgive her. she passed quietly 4 days after my birthday

hate old people? i am old people. and it is my gram. loved her lots and she was the only one in my family that got my sarcasm. when i would say something to someone at the family gatherings she always nudged me with her cane and had a sly grin

also of note this is the same grandmother who i would take grocery shopping then out to eat every friday. One time at wendys she choked for a second on a fry and i panicked. all i could think of was gram is going to die on my watch.

from that point on each time we went out to eat she would fake choke to scare me

I hosted a hot sauce tasting in my hometown last night. I've done a bunch of tastings by now but this was the first time it was open to the public, at a proper venue, with people paying to attend. It was a full house. I can't believe a bunch of people I don't know actually paid money to come watch me talk about hot sauce. It went so well. We had more than enough food (I was worried about this) and this one guest gifted me a baggie of his homegrown weed after the event just 'cause he enjoyed himself so much.

Doing numbers this morning we actually ended up slightly in the red. But the event was fun so it was worth it
