Stone's work on infallible and pendulum is a late career highlight for me and the best part of LB. I like him playing the bass in the DOC clip and am excited for buckle up. I agree with others- if lots of ed songs means we get a new album, then great! We get a new album.

Infallible should have been amazing. Production aside, I think it's sunk by a generic chorus that Eddie can't even reach the notes on. The guitar work by Stone is a redeeming feature of the song.

Pendulum is probably the best overall song on the record as far as feeling a little more authentically like Pearl Jam... Well, authentically like Pearl.Jam and still kind of experimental for them.

You are right about the chorus. I like the quirky guitars. I should have clarified it was a late career "stone" highlight.

DOTC was a full band effort and Seven O Clock I'm not sure who gets the credit there, only that it originated from a jam session.

Imagine being Stone Gossard, one of the best songwriters in the world, and you get 1-2 songs on each album, every 5 or so years, and that includes a couple of the weaker songs on the past two records. Amazing.

He WAS one of the best songwriters in the world, until 1995.

Rival is good too though I wish it was explored a bit more.

Rival is good. Thin Air is fantastic. I also like Amongst the Waves, it's pretty decent, it's just got a bit too much of the BoB shine, but there's a good song there.

ATWs, Infallibles and Let The Records Plays problems have nothing to do with Stones music. They could have all been great songs. Certain other people are at fault here. And who knows how Supersonic sounded originally? Maybe Stone had Mankind in mind when writing it rather than spritzy punk.

It's certainly a group effort, and has always been. If Stone gets a lot of the credit for the music on Ten, you still have to acknowledge the incredible talent Ed brought in with his lyrics and voice, Mike's guitar work, Jeff and Dave K were tight.

ATW and Infallible are good. The two songs have their issues, but as much as I love the band, it is tough for them to compete with their best work from the 90s. LTRP is the one song that really could have been better. And I agree with you that other people are at fault there. The idea is very interesting, but the end product leaves something to be desired.

Comparing the two PJ singles with the two Dua Lipa singles

DOTC vs Don't Start Now
Wolfmoon vs Physical

Dua really has this beat. Don't Start Now just reached #2 in the charts so it was probably premature of them to release Physical.

Pathetically, neither DOTC or Wolfmoon have made a dent on the charts.
