Despite April having been probably the worst month I've ever had to go through - May has been surprisingly great. My daughter turned 9 - had a great day with her.
She managed to come in 3rd for her school cross-country and got into the district cross-country. We told her she'd need to train since it would be multiple schools at this event. She did nothing - then pulled off another 3rd place - so in a couple of weeks she has another race.
Celebrated another revolution around the sun - had a great day, got lots of cool gifts.
Celebrated 12 years being married to my beautiful wife.
Other daughter got her first coloured belt in Taekwondo.
Got a 400 streak in Wordle
Went away for a dirty weekend with the wife
Managed to transform the back area of our property into a 'chill zone' - built an outdoor table that hopefully after this weekend will have a fire-pit in the middle.
All good things - I just hope the momentum keeps going

Have some friends staying over for a few days. Which is great! They’re fun! But I will say the one thing I have a tough time dealing with when people stay over is how much my mornings get delayed. I like to be up by 8 and having breakfast as soon as possible. But it always takes hours beyond that when people are here. I’m so hungry

Just put on Katy Lied really loud promptly at 8 while you prepare breakfast. If they get up while you’re cooking, they get fed. If not, they can fend for themselves. Ask what they want the day before so there’s no hem-hawing around about what to make.
