"5+"? Is that allowed?
And during No Rank October, no less
This is a very good point. What a slap in the face.
At least he had the decency not to do it during No Rate November (stay tuned!)

Three solid four star songs that you never would have heard if it weren't for us. So YOU'RE WELCOME.
Swings and roundabouts, I’ve also spent precious moments of my life listening to Lightning Bolt.

Someday you will look back on those moments and realize there could have been more of them. And then, finally, you will feel…something

My ears aren’t nuanced enough to really have accurate 4 or 5 star song ratings. I’ll say this: Never been a Just Breathe fan. Seen it live a bunch and resented it because of what might have been played instead. But at Wrigley a couple months ago it was my favorite performance of the two nights. It isn’t in the same conversation as Immortality or Black or Given to Fly, but it was 5 stars for me that night. The Running/React Respond combo was my runner up for the weekend.

Maybe I overestimated!
There are many four star songs right behind the above, including a lot of my favourites.
I messed up by not including Rats in the list above.
That brings things to an even 10 (and cements Vs as the band's best record.)

I can't say I've ever sat down and ranked 5 star songs in their catalog, but I would venture to guess there are about 15-20 songs that meet that criteria on my personal rating scale. As Trag mentioned, there are a ton of four star songs.

How many are 5+?

My guess is that if we looked at all the song polls and categorized anything averaging above 4.5 as a 5, there would be at least three dozen that RM at large thinks are 5 star songs.

Just look at the songs that have consistently made it far in March Madness contests (ex. Corduroy).

Those are your 5 star (top tier) songs. The others are now 4 star songs (second tier).
There. I solved it
