People keep saying that but I'm not sure I agree. This album, the energy, the vibe, they style, feels like very very modern Pearl Jam to me. There are some musical references to classic PJ. But when I go back and listen to those first couple records, Dark Matter doesn't feel like those records, to me. Which, to be clear, is not an insult or a criticism of the record.

I listened to Breath and Stevie back to back, and thats a very 90s feel. Same with Wreckage and Wont Tell. And while the songs are not similar to lets say, Ten, the energy and vibe is very much PJ from 93 and 98 i would say.

Fair enough, it just feels way more 06-13 to me.
And I'm obviously wrong because most people are saying what you're saying.

I can see ST as being closer, but again thats one the band intended to be closer to Vs at least, so it makes sense.

Im mostly very impressed and happy they can belt out an album like this, even if im a huge fan of Gigaton. And of course, the tour was also top notch.
Hoping they keept writing maybe on the tour? that could be a different and cool approach for the next one.

No need. Rock albums, or category's they're in, aren't even aired these days.

Pearl Jam have received three nominations for Grammy Awards in the US: Best Rock Album (Dark Matter), Best Rock Song (Dark Matter), and Best Rock Performance (Dark Matter).
Is best rock performance in regards to DM the album or DM the song? What’s the difference between best rock album/song and best rock performance?

One is a writing award, the other a performance award.
Or maybe it's one of a technical/recording award and one is performance.
Think of it as one style award and one execution award.
