Not at all put off by this review. He didn't elaborate much on the songs he says he didn't like and the descriptions I do have of them from other reviews don't make me worried about songs like Retrograde and River Cross at all.

Yeah its especially tough since it’s 10 seconds of a near 6 minute song that apparently switches up part way through.

Thought for a second they’d drop the song but I’ll take something like this.

I like that teaser. Not giving too much away but already like the way it sounds.

Could it be that they release this as the third single end of this week?

This is probably the instrumental background for the verses. And well, chords are better to sing on than riffs. Its just 10 seconds, please dont overreact guys.

Great, another Vedder-penned, rhythmically-static thud rocker in the vein of Getaway, WWS, etc.

Two such songs, back-to-back, at the start of the album does not bode well, especially when I already disliked SBWM.

I'm confident the album will at least sound much better than the last few, and I still have hope for a handful of songs, but I'll admit my expectations of having an enjoyable front-to-back album have completely flatlined since finding out Ed wrote so much of it.
