It’s mostly fish and vegetables you get, but it gives you a decent stockpile early

I will say, early on in this game seems more difficult than early on in BotW. And the enemies are definitely more difficult. And they chase you longer and farther if you try to run away

Mulling over a Switch purchase. How well do the games perform on TVs while docked?

I get 1 hit killed by Taluses - I don't remember that. The common enemies seem the same to me. Avoiding Lynels and other mini-bosses for the time being. I went to coliseum and saw that 3 headed Dragon waiting inside and said no way.

How do amibos work?
Same as in BotW. Choose amiibo (it's in the selection with Stasis and Magnesis). Scan amiibo. Goodies fall from the heavens.

I’ve never even seen one. How would you scan it? Can you just enter a code?
Each amiibo has a signal. You tap them against the controller. I got Epona with one of those today.

21 Shrines completed and cleared. 35 Koruks. Epona stabled. Hylian Shield found. Stumbled into the glide suit. Productive start!

I prefer playing on the tv. I don’t notice any lag. I’m sure the OLED ones are even better

Generally the Nintendo-made games run well to very well in docked mode (720p to 1080p). Ports and non exclusives are sort of all over the place. It really is an excellent system with a huge library of games worth playing.

I just landed on the ground in Hyrule and a girl with glasses is sending me on my way. It's really fun.

Can’t get over how much there is. I’m not even really doing anything but running around. I’ll check in to a shrine so i have the waypoint but have only complete maybe ten. I’ll talk to people to get quests activated but will save for later. I love messing around up on the sky islands. And i haven’t even really constructed any vehicles yet!

I’m not seeing anyone anywhere saying they’re really enjoying it. Or even beginning to.
Most of it is along the this is daunting / functionality being a real pain, whole thing is frustrating.

I know it’s just a couple of days but I’m worried

I love it. Exploring is my favorite thing to do. The controls are fine. Just have to get used to the different functions. Ascend is amazing. The constructing vehicles just takes some getting used to but the balloons and jets are fun. Love the new enemies and bokoblins can jump up rocks now!

It’s like BotW on steroids. I think they meant it to have more to do than BotW so the enjoyment will last.

Seriously ascend is great. Got me out of more than a few tight spaces

Well that’s great to hear. Thanks boys.

I did wonder how we’re gonna get up to the islands in the sky. Glad it’s not a big ordeal n you get it early.
