if they do a live studio recording of even a few of the new songs it would be nice. they can hide in silhouettes and all wear hats as long as its real.

right now i feel like we've only got ads for music.

Oh I’d still care, but I’d be listening and digging it while acknowledge the transactional moral compromise I’d be making. E.g, “I’m hitting this tour despite the fact they’re paying poster artists in merch, and that makes me complicit in the artists’ suffering.” It’s basically how I frame my 401k contributions and use of an iPhone.
Perhaps the music isn’t as bad as you say, it’s just a convenient excuse for you to avoid such an uncomfortable compromise.
Nah. I compromise my ideals to keep paying for the progressively worse Louis CK specials; similar with RHCP, though I think they’re crushing it.

Conversely I’ll never pay for another Woody Allen movie again, because I don’t care about his art enough to make the compromise.

I’ve got sort of a karmic balance sheet in my head for this stuff, but the art’s got to be good enough for me to assume the liability.
This seems fucked up.

I usually don't care for the "live video for studio song" choice they've taken for a long time now, but these songs are good enough that I'd be interested

I’ll bet the video(s) are played as part of the theatrical release on 4/16. We certainly aren’t getting a typical video release before then.

I liked Death and the Maiden and I love Frantic. Otherwise a non-entity for me.
Ever bop to a Charlie Manson banger?

There is the (possibly forlorn) hope that the Josh Evans-involved Dolby Atmos mix will be that.
