I should probably steal an HBO Go password to watch this, shouldn't I?

You could do a 30-day free trial of HBO Now.

If you have Prime, it's $10/month (no minimum) and you get the same content as HBO Now.Monkey_Driven wrote:I might just wait until GoT comes back and watch it then.Simple Torture wrote:You could do a 30-day free trial of HBO Now.

Watched the first two episodes of season three. A bit slow, but well made and well acted.

The acting is quite good in this. Ali is fantastic, as always.
But, unlike the first season, it doesn’t feel like “must see tv.” The overuse of time jumps is kind of annoying.

This season destroys the second one. That season doesn’t even seem like the same show.

when did they say that? sometimes I miss a line of dialogue because the sound is low. I got that he let Roland down but it never suggested how.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
I've seen comments in reviews and elsewhere about how the hallucinations that Old Wayne is having come off as a trite plot device. For me, it's felt like the opposite: after every single episode, these are the scenes that stick with me and haunt me for days. My grandmother had Alzheimer's, and before she lost her language skills (she couldn't speak for about the final 2 years of her life), she had powerful hallucinations that are some of my worst memories. One of the last conversations I ever had with her where I could understand her, she was convinced that my brother, my sister, and I had come to the nursing home to kill her. There wasn't a thing we could say to shake from her mind that we--whoever she thought we were, because no matter how many times we tried to tell her, she didn't think we were her grandkids--were there to murder her, that it was the final scene in a crime novel or something like that. It hurts my gut to even think about it to this day, and as Wayne has the hallucinations of Amelia, or VC, or even of himself, I get the same feeling thinking that that's what my grandmother saw.
So, yeah, better than season 2.

word those are great scenes, but are all his symptoms reducible to alzheimer's? I was not aware people with Alzheimer's hallucinate.Simple Torture wrote:I've seen comments in reviews and elsewhere about how the hallucinations that Old Wayne is having come off as a trite plot device.
