I enjoyed it enough - it was fun

You're dead to me. No fun allowed.

I like Villains
It's a fine album, with some very good songs, but it does feel like a step down. I don't revisit it nearly as much as Like Clockwork.
In a way it feels like it's their Lightning Bolt. A solid continuation of the previous album.

Villains sucks.
The first 2 minutes of the opening track is fantastic but that song is about 3 minutes too long. Wonderful way to start the album though. The Way You Used To is also a jam.
Everything else is completely forgettable.
Im all for bands evolving and trying new things. I dont need these guys to always be sludgy sexy metal music but Villains is very disappointing.

It does. I've been actively trying to see the good in all music for a while now. It pains me to hate on music, but this album just sucks.

Hideaway, Haunted House, Unreborn Again and Villains are the only songs I really go back to, but I enjoy those 4. They're all solid 4 star queens songs.
There's really nothing on the album that can hold up to Like Clockwork, though.

Listening to anything decent these days, Tommy?

I haven't listened to anything new in quite a while. Mostly I've been listening to Soundgarden, The Sound and The Talking Heads lately.
Most of what used to be music time is now Podcast time for me. I only really listen to music while riding my bike.

I could do a year on an island with nothing but Talking Heads. One of the greatest bands.

What's this all about? I remember The Sounds.

The Sound are a Post-Punk band that formed in the late 70s. They didn't achieve much success, but the critics loved them. I discovered them while looking for bands in the same vein as Television. Their first album is the best IMO.

I'm glad you like it. I listen to that album all the time and it really bums me out that it's not more well known.

Lullabies and Vulgaris are so underrated.
