I get tired of Ten. But when you actually listen to it, it has a lot of great songs.

2. Ten
3. Vs.
4. Lightning Bolt
5. S/T
6. Backspacer
7. Yield
8. Riot Act
9. Binaural

Same here. I rarely ever seek out Ten or songs from it. I did this album to death years ago.

However, on the rare occasion I bring it out - it's an enjoyable experience. I think it's mostly for the nostalgia now. Many memories spring to mind playing this album. Ex girlfriends, my first concert in 98, parties, driving with mates as a teenager, cranking up music in my bedroom and brooding, good times.

It would be interesting to rank the albums in order you'd lose them.
Which ten toes you choosing to lose first?

Maybe there's already a thread.

Edit:
If I had to choose, in the order I'd let go to save the next in line:
Lightning Bolt
Backspacer
S/T
No Code
Binaural
Ten
Riot Act
Vitalogy
VS
Yield

Top 2 are interchangeable on any given day. Then, the same goes for the next 2. Ten is an anomoly. It almost feels strange to rank it. I recognize it for its impact on me back in 1992. But, I haven't listened to it in years and have no desire to. Actually, I've listened to S/T more than Vs. or Ten combined in the past 10 years.

This is really interesting because I think you hit on something valuable, which is that I think the world sort of sees Pearl Jam and its fans more generally tied to those first two albums - a sense of never moving on from them or that their subsequent releases are shades of their former glory. The reality is that maybe, the fans have moved on from that time and instead root their interest in a larger view of the catalogue as a whole than reverberations of what was.

Genuinely curious if you capitalized the BO in bolt to emphasize what a stinker LB is.

Good post. I feel the same way about Ten.
