Totally unrelated, I would like to insert Vada Pinson and Heinie Groh as the starting pitchers for the Reds tomorrow. Just trying something new.

:haha:

The Crosschud Series is also tomorrow.

chud has informed me the Expos will be experimenting with a new 7 man defense, sans-first baseman.

Not sure why anyone else would get to pick the team. I'll handle it.

It's me vs Chicago tomorrow. So much for that Pumpkins boot I was going to listen to tonight. That'd be bad karma.

#BRL, you're in charge of the Western All-Star team.

I'm just gonna watch video of Robin Ventura's walk-off grand slam against the Rangers from 1991.

Skitch will let you know the details, but I think you've got to assemble 24 guys from the western teams (Chicago, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Kansas City, Seattle, St. Louis, and Texas) based on their performances in the league so far (and the 25th is a final vote-type situation) to face Jorge's eastern team sometime next week in a series of ASG games on a day off from the regular season.

NOTE FOR EVERYBODY: If we're having an All-Star break, all the pitching staffs are reset and everyone will be considered to be fully rested when we resume the schedule

#BRL, there are stats being kept for the two Chicago teams, Cincinnati, Houston, and St. Louis so you can use those to help make your decisions.

Actually #BRL, here are Skitch's guidelines.
@SkitchP wrote:Owner of the team with the best record in each division (east v west) after tomorrows games is the manager of the all star team. (if they wont be around, they can hand it off to another guy)

Sunday they post the all star team- 23 guys with a minimum of 2 from each team. The remaining 2 slots can be voted on monday by the rest of the league, kind of like a final vote.

Voting ends monday evening, with lineups to be finalized by then, game run on tuesday?

Have my kiddo this weekend and she's recovering from having her tonsils out but I should be able to make it work.

I think it's a good idea that we each send at least two legitimate all star candidates to our team's captain. No need for all that extra research for the captain.

If you can't, let me know tomorrow afternoon and we'll try to figure something out. I just figured that...

1. Worst case scenario you are 2/3 of a three-way tie for first.
2. Being in charge of two of the three Western teams who don't have up-to-date stats, you'll have the best idea of who is performing at an All-Star level from KC and Texas.

But let me know if you can't, and I can probably take over the duties.
