To be fair it's just the "thoughts will soon arrIIIIIIVE" part that's grating me at the moment. I like the concept, just don't think it's "in his register" any more. Maybe I'd have preferred a more conservative delivery of that part on record and wouldn't have minded if he wanted to put his nuts on the block a bit more for that bit when played live.

Why don't you understand that he does have faith?It is not something exclusively for Christians or other religious people. And you are right about this theme finding a nice continuation in MYM. And doesn't he mention god in sometimes and marker in the sand? Agnosticish wave-humping hippie is what ive always figured.

My summary for now:
I LOVE Getaway, Mind Your Manners and Swallowed Whole.
When i think about :
1. I also like Lightning Bolt studio version very much
2. we still have to listen to the more challenging stuff as Infallible, Pendulum, Yellow Moon, My Father's Son.
3. i am prepared for Sirens with no expectations at all, so i'd at least like it (i believe in Mike on this one)
4. Sleeping By Myself was my favorite on Ukulele Songs so i might like the full band version,
5. The melody of Future Days is lovely, so there's a chance i'd enjoy the studio version,

..overall, at the moment on paper it looks like it's gonna be way better than Backspacer (as Mike said) & probably (for me) the best one since Vitalogy.

I have no problem believing (!) that a rock singer who said in an interview in 1994 that he was an atheist, would be a less hardline atheist in 2013, or even an agnostic.
