Ive been having a discussion with a couple of my friends as to which is worse. The Trump Years or the Bush Years?
What's the argument for Trump being worse?
I assume it includes some combination of Puerto Rico, separated families, first provoking and then befriending North Korea without any deescalation on their part, publicly defending white supremicists, helping the Saudis cover up a murder, rewriting multiple trade deals in ways that primarily serve to cut us out, publicly supporting anti-vax conspiracy theories and trying to incorporate them into policy decisions, doubling the Mara Lago fee upon his election and then routinely giving the people who paid it administration positions, firing the FBI Director for insufficient personal loyalty, Betsy Devos, rolling back student loan protections, intentionally lying about every topic from mass voter fraud to *inventing terror attacks* whenever it served his purpose, repealing laws related to dangerous chemical, lead-based paint, and coal company waste dumping, attacking transgender rights at every angle he can think of, intentionally cultivating distrust of news organizations among a massive voter group, gutting medical research funding, mental health services, and public housing, banning departments from using the words “climate change,” or “emissions reduction,” eliminating rules requiring ISPs to ask costumer permission before selling their private data, stopping all funding to the UN Family Planning Agency, firing half the scientists on the EPA advisory board and replacing them with lobbyists, and wanting our warships to go back to goddamn steam.
Post of the year.
Because of its insight into the obsessive mind of its writer?
It's a very impressive post.
My reply is 9/11, the patriot act, and the deaths of of at least half a million Iraqis.
Honest question: Is this something that you worry about or did you bring it up for the purposes of McP's challenge?
I don't really understand your question. I was just listing a few negative things that GWB was responsible for.
He was responsible for 9/11?
At the very least the Bush administration was guilty of extreme negligence regarding 9/11. They shifted focus away from Bin Laden and ignored numerous warnings.
Thanks for clarifying that statement.

Iraq alone is enough to give Bush the win. Not that it's his only fuck up.
For all the hysterics here, Trump has mostly been status quo and his (supposed) decision to leave Afghanistan and Syria, as well as diffusing tensions in Korea has been...dare I say it...Good.

Well, he doesn't have the Gorilla Channel, that's probably the next best entertainment.

When I saw him on the TV at the gym today I thought, "so Goodman will be playing in on SNL any week now."
