BMW is planning on charging a subscription for the use of your seat warmers. Things unrelated to driving are easier to implement, more likely to be liability free, but still allow them to nickel and dime you.

I mean, seat warmers are still an extra option, aren’t they? Nickel and diming might be cheaper over the lifespan of the vehicle than it is to purchase outright currently. And I wonder if it’s a cancel/renew anytime thing, cuz you really only need seat warmers for like two months a year.

My response still remains that we need to square two different policies here:
1. Manufacture vaccines for the entire world.
2. Restrict booster shots until the rest of the world has at least 1-2 shots.
I strongly support Policy #1. I'm not convinced that Policy #2 is necessary to achieve the goal of Policy #1, but if it ends up being that way due to restricted supply, fine, so be it.
What I don't want to see, and where I fear we're headed, is that Policy #2 is enacted but Policy #1 isn't. That seems like the worst of both worlds where no one is taking available shots.

for #2 i think that will be tough as there are going to be people who refuse the vaccine regardless.

There is enough vaccine for everyone on the planet. The problem is the lack of infrastructure to get it to everyone. Americans getting boosters isn’t the reason someone in India isn’t getting their shots.

Given how weak the evidence for boosters is, that's hardly a disaster.

Kinda suprised CA would do this. I guess they can make reasonable decisions from time to time.

I got topped off in WI last week despite being strong as an ox and healthy AF. The lady on the phone yada-yada'd the CDC guidelines so I gave her the verbal equivalent of a shrug.

At that point, why bother? Maybe get a booster at some point, but immediately getting a vaccine after recovering is not particularly helpful, unless you just want to check a box.
