No, it seems it the jam based song...
Yeah, it's the one that supposedly developed out of a jam. I really think the way they credit songs just does not make much sense. Think about what Ed brought into the band with Can't Keep vs. what it turned into. I think it'd probably be less confusing, and most likely closer to how things operate, if they just did it the way R.E.M. and Radiohead (and many others) do, which is credit the music to the band and the lyrics to Vedder (or whoever is doing them for that song).

yeah, they used to do that...credit the whole band even if someone bring the song...but in the other hand they also credit individual members since ten...i dont know.

no its a super low tier song for Pearl Jam. It's OK.
Hard disagree. Both SBWM and Dance are better than anything since RA, and there’s not much that is even close.
Super hard disagree. SBWM is better than Life Wasted? Severed Hand? Inside Job? Pendulum? WWS?
Oh god yes. Much better.

Who is easier to underrate that Ed. But look at that list. And he's a star on No Code and Yield too, though not the songwriting star. He's also the reason pj is still a band (and yet consistently he's the only one faulted for almost breaking them up). Neil Young understood EV earlier than most.

You were rambling about hallelujah not being a real song cos it doesn’t have a chorus or something. And Leonard Cohen being a cunt.
I was getting texts about it.
It’s in some other thread

From what I've read, and from friends I've spoken to about this who have published songs & released records, it's often a common practice to attribute the credit to the person who brings in, say, the verse, a chorus, or, perhaps a bridge. The adornments are considered accompaniment, and usually do not qualify.
Having said that, every band is a unique entity. Guns N' Roses, for instance, had a fairly complex, percentage-based system by which they would divide royalties. Songwriting credits can be one of the most contentious aspects of being in a band, and could be pretty fiercely contended if the band is in a less than trusting place.

Life Wasted is ok, maybe middle of the pack PJ. Severed Hand is about equal to Life Wasted, and I’d not miss either of them if I never heard them again. Inside Job is somehow boring and bloated while having terrible lyrics. Pendulum is probably one of the best songs on the last two albums, but that is mostly an indictment on how shitty the last two albums were, it definitely doesn’t touch PJ’s better material. I hate WWS, always have. It’s grating and reminds me of all the terrible music that was on the radio around the same time that it felt like PJ was desperately trying to be like. SBWM and Dance are both way out of any of these song’s league.
