You can't spoonfeed me because the song's "message" is not political. It uses a few terms that are often used in political discourse, but the message is not political. If it is, prove otherwise.

Supersonic is not even remotely political and you're reaching to try to say it is.

My point is: Ed writes from a socio-political point of view most of the times. Even if he is clearly making a point ( wws/bushleaguer) or if the whole point is more subtext oriented.
He was more direct with his lyrics during the bush administration, perhaps because he felt it was worse than this one or the previous Clinton one...or because he felt he needed to be as direct as he could to get the message out there.

Also, I don't see a need for everyone to constantly harp on Bushleaguer as their political song. Look at Evenflow or Glorified G for other examples.

I personally believe the song to be about sweet F.A. It's one of those songs that has no idea what the fuck it is, but as much as it's about anything, it's about political and social action; being in it to win it and not backing down. Or some shit. You've said it yourself; things don't have to attack a president to be political.
