I'm not sure who posted it previously, but a perfect world would have had the red team vax up until inauguration day, and then the blue team would have been all about it. This way everyone would be vaxxed.

Because it isn’t their lord and savior mandating it. Trump was the one that tried his hardest to get the vaccines out before the election thinking it would get him re-elected. Operation Warp Speed and all. But because Biden was in office when the big push to get vaccinated happened, Trump and his MAGA acolytes decided the Covid vaccines* were bad and it was an affront to freedom worldwide to suggest people get vaccinated.
*And somehow only the Covid vaccine. I had a girl present to me a religious exemption for the Covid vaccine. I guess the lord is MAGA too. I had another girl I interviewed the same day that said she would never get it because she didn’t know what was in it. I was like, “did you know what was in the polio vaccine you received? The MMR vaccine?”

It’s hard to un-brainwash people

Isn't Topol pushing for lockdowns, the guy who claimed he helped get Pfizer to delay the results of the vaccine trials until after the election ? Maybe the institutions he has influence with will ignore him, but certainly some are agitating that direction.
My kids are in kindergarten now and there is a birthday party like every single weekend.
I swear the whole class is invited to every party.
So the kids have the masks on all day in school and then on the weekend the masks come off with the same exact group of people, usually in smaller and more confined spaces. Inevitably they’ll grab another kid’s drink, and all reach into the same bag of chips, eat cake that the birthday child exhaled all over while blowing out the candles, probably wrestle … that’s what they do.
Good thing about those masks during story time in class, though.

Are the masks the problem in that scenario?

It's weird that this is what we assume of people now
there's a different between hoping for and not feeling bad for someone when it bites them in the ass
do you feel bad for people who get a DUI? they knew the risk of drinking and driving and thought they knew better

Maybe the masks protect the other kids at school from your kids.

Jorge: People do these things. It’s what they do.
B: I think you think I am talking specifically about my kids and not every single kid.

It still minimizes risk of infection.

Minimizes?
Try again.
That would be locking everyone up in their homes.

A birthday party is, what, an hour or two a week? Versus however long kindergarten is each day, five days a week.
