yeah i loved that flashback ep. It was so well directed, gorgeous black and white, very cool acting. I do agree that the final episode was rushed. They need it one more.
Agree. The scenes in the flashback with Viola in the room pacing back and forth again and again in her routine felt very timely.VinylGuy wrote:yeah i loved that flashback ep. what took you so long!! oh and ep 5 is fuuuucking amazing.epilogue wrote:Watched the first 4 episodes of Hill House tonight. It's fucking great! Not at all what I was expecting.
I didn't think this was something I'd like. I was expecting a totally different show. The only reason I finally pulled the trigger is that I saw Dr. Sleep and liked it. I wanted you see more of Flanagan's work.VinylGuy wrote:what took you so long!! oh and ep 5 is fuuuucking amazing.epilogue wrote:Watched the first 4 episodes of Hill House tonight. Go watch Bly Manor after you finish this one!!
And you are for a treat with Hill House last couple of episodes. Bly Manor is not all Flanagan but his prints are there. You should watch his movies.epilogue wrote:I didn't think this was something I'd like. I was expecting a totally different show. I'll definitely check out Bly after this.

This show is truly fantastic. Phenomenal visuals. Tense and tender. Genuinely scary in parts (there's a moment in ep 8 that is got me big time; haven't been that frightened in a while; even tops the thing that really got me in Lovecraft Country, which is saying a lot). Excellent pace throughout. Just wonderful.epilogue wrote:VinylGuy wrote:Oh you are for such a treat. Prepare yourself and come back with a full reviewepilogue wrote:Watched 3 more eps of Hill House. I love the way they treated the horror and the concept of what a haunting is. Also, I miss Timothy Hutton. He should be in more stuff.
Theo was my favorite character.
I haven't yet, no. The wife wanted to take a break after Hill House. But we're both excited. I'm hoping we can dive in this weekend.Bi_3 wrote:Hey DcT, have you started watching Bly yet? Thoughts?
Just started this the other day, and it's very good.EJ wrote:A few eps into Queen's Gambit and enjoying it. The first ep was the clear standout.
