In our group of 6-12 people we always watch scenes for next week.

I don't know anyone who doesn't watch scenes from next week. This is first I've heard of anyone doing it, let alone that it's common practice.

My circles tend to stay away from them because they spoil cliffhangers from the previous episode. Always did this with these types of series

It's not a bad policy. As the show gets further and further away from the books, I may start to do the same. We'll see.

Usually the next week's preview doesn't give too much away.

Right. But I don't see that as any kind of big deal. I guess I never doubted that he was fucking dead from the episode itself. Seemed pretty obvious to me. But whatever.

But the police never checked his pulse and said "yup, he's dead"

Sometimes this show is so very different than I ever pictured while reading. And then sometimes it's eerily perfect. The runis. The stone men falling. Tyrion in the water. That shit was fucking perfect. Perfect.

I think a lot of people are going to feel underwhelmed by this episode, especially coming off last week. But I thought it was a damn great episode. And I've fully embraced the separation from the books at this point. I finally feel like I'm WATCHING the show.
