Mike Mularkey - same as Campbell, and they either go after Kelly or a big-name coordinator
Jeff Fisher - either fired or they come to some sort of mutual agreement to let him go; they eventually hire an up-and-coming coordinator
Jim Tomsula - fired, they go looking for a big name
Sean Payton - this I'm least sure about, but with the upcoming cap troubles, I could see some sort of mutual parting ways, Saints look for an up-and-comer and Payton becomes the prize of the offseason

The "Wouldn't It Make Sense?" Group
Mike Pettine - This whole organization seems like such a joke and this has been such a season from hell that it would seem like an easy thing to do, but he did have them at 7-9 last year
Jim Caldwell - Defend him, Skitch
Gus Bradley - I've heard reports in the past few days that they're gonna stick with him, but it's not like the teams has vastly improved this year
Mike McCoy - If the Chargers are heading to LA next year, it'd probably make sense to start fresh with a new leader at the helm

The Dallas Cowboys Group
Jason Garrett - Who the fuck knows? Obviously, losing so many skill players to injury isn't his fault, but I could see Jones trying to make a splash with a new hire

The "Sorry, Jim Tomsula, even though some of these coaches have losing records, they get to keep their jobs after their first season" Group
Dan Quinn - The Falcons had a 5-game win streak and a 6-game losing streak this year, so I think a lot of their collapse will be written off to jitters
Rex Ryan - For better or for worse, the Bills are probably committed to him for 2 more seasons at least
John Fox - The Bears were an anonymous team this year, but not bad enough for them to even consider this
Gary Kubiak - The Broncos are only a hair above .500 with B.O. at QB, but their defense could carry them far

The Has A Chance to Gain Lots of Cred with Another Good Season Group
Mike Zimmer - They've got holes, but the Vikings appear to be on the rise
Todd Bowles - Pretty impressive first season; I think everyone imagined this would be a disaster season with the Geno Smith injury, but now they control their own destiny in the final week
Jack del Rio - After so many seasons of incompetence, the Raiders could be poised to strike if the Broncos slip at all next year
Jay Gruden - They're probably going to fold in the playoffs against better competition (teams beaten this year: STL, PHIx2, TB, NO, NYG, BUF, CHI), but if they win a playoff game, we'll talk

So Much Goodwill, A Firing Isn't Even Considered Group
John Harbaugh - a dreadful season, but he still has 6 playoff appearances in 8 seasons
Mike Tomlin - even if they miss the playoffs due to losing against the aforementioned dreadful Ravens, not a chance

Will Probably Stick Around, Even with Question Marks
Marvin Lewis - this poor guy will probably exit during the first round again, and this time due to injuries; regardless, I don't think he gets fired
Tom Coughlin - I don't think Coughlin ever gets fired: he either "retires" or dies on the sideline
Bill O'Brien - The playoff berth saved O'Brien's job, probably, even though they have just 2 impressive wins (CIN and NYJ; others: TB, JAX, TENx2, NO, IND)
Chuck Pagano - There were lots of rumblings early in the season that he was on the outs, but now he has the "My all-pro QB was injured all year!" excuse
Lovie Smith - Even with that first awful (tanking?) season in TB, Lovie has a winning career record; TB has improved, so even if they're last in their division, he gets another crack at it

Bruce Arians - Probably has the highest stock of any coach in the league right now
Pete Carroll - Even with a less-than-stellar campaign, he belongs here, I think, and they'll be dangerous in January

Andy Reid - Winning 9 games in a row is remarkable, and Reid has the pedigree

Apparently James Bettcher's name has been mentioned for a head coaching position already. After just one year as Cards D coordinator. From a special teams coach at the University of New Hampshire to an NFL head coach in 5 years. That'd be pretty fucking crazy.

--If the Rams move to LA, Fisher probably stays one more year as he has experience being the coach of a relocated team.
--I think Tomsula isn't one-and-done, given the high regard the 49ers seem to have for him.
--I'd be stunned if Pagano comes back. Just so much writing about how dysfunctional his relationship is with Irsay and Grigson.
--I love that Riverboat Ron gif. I'm also so happy the Chargers screwed him over when he was a coordinator there.

There's been Sean Payton to Cowboys rumors for a couple of months, but I have a hard time believing he'd want to be a part of that circus.

I sort of forgot about the possibility of the Rams moving; I guess that makes sense if they do.

I could see maybe one more year for Tomsula in SF--they're almost certainly going to start with a new QB next year, and if it's a slog, he may get canned midseason.

Most of that Pagano heat has died down, and I think the ownership will just pray that Luck comes back healthy next year and is back to the form of his first three seasons; then they don't have to deal with the massive upheaval of changing an entire coaching staff.

I also love that he became more inclined to go for 4th and short because of a loss 2 years ago to Buffalo when he kicked a FG that only improved their odds of winning by like 0.01% and gave the Bills the ball back for a late TD rally at the end of the game.

The Saints won't fire Payton--not immediately, at least--because they'll try to trade him to some stupid franchise that's been throwing big money at big names for a decade and is convinced that despite all evidence to the contrary this time will be different.

I was thinking my moronic franchise, but there are certainly a few. About two months ago rumors were flying about Miami trading a first and third for Payton.

Quick Caldwell thoughts, since it was requested:

I don't think he'll be back, but that's largely because of the GM switch. If it was the same GM, id think he earned another season.

Negatives:
some of his game management is very very concerning. Overly conservative, clock management is not great and some very glaring errors- lots of "10 men on the field" type of stuff, especially on special teams. Also, the "expecting laterals because we didnt think aaron rodgers could throw it 60 yards" is beyond stupid. Doesn't say ANYTHING in press conferences.

Positives:
--I think he would be the only Lion coach to be over .500 after 2 seasons in like, 50 years.
--Good coordinators. Both Austin and Cooter seem to be guys on the rise that I would hate to lose.
--He seems to really have the respect of the players.
--The development of guys seems like it's been better under him than any other Lions coach in the last, well, forever. Later round guys like Nevin Lawson, Devin Taylor, Quandre Diggs and Tahir Whitehead NEVER happened with the Lions before. Darius Slay is a top level corner at this point. Isa Abdul-Quaddus is a nice find. What do all those guys have in common though? Defensive. I wonder how much of that is Austin. The offensive guys don't seem like we've seen that- and Caldwell is an offensive coach.

Summary: I am okay with keeping Caldwell, but would definitely like to see him add a more competent 'game manager' former head coach on his staff to keep an eye on the quality control stuff.
